In 1954, the Illinae Association was formed to promote curling
among the women of Illinois. Competition, friendship and mutual respect are
the cornerstones of the Illinae. For over 50 years, the women curlers of the
state have supported each other's efforts to grow curling.
The Illinae Association has a Board consisting of a President,
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President and one
Representative from each member club. The president is chosen each year
from the Illinois clubs on a rotating basis. A representative is elected
by the home club to be a member of the Board representing that club for a
term designated by the club's by-laws.
Once a year, the Illinae Bonspiel gives the members from all the Illinois
clubs an opportunity to compete against each other. The spiel is held at
a member club on a rotating basis.
A directory of all curlers in Illinois, known as the Broom to Broom, is
published annually by the Illinae to promote interaction between clubs.
The new logo on the homepage was designed by 2005 by Susie Johnson of
Wilmette Curling Club.
This year, our website was created in order to better communicate with
the members and women throughout the state interested in curling.
We wish every curler a wonderful curling season.
